My travels last week to the Northeast took me from the beaches of the North Fork to our lakeside locale in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. Our route always has us stop through the town of Millerton, NY (a stone's throw from the CT border) for a cup of coffee at Irving Farm -- a local roaster that has locations in NYC as well. With coffees in hand and heading back to the car, we couldn't help but notice the shiny silver Airstream parked across the street, inviting us to come closer with its windows & door opened for visitors.
We happened upon Camp, a pop-up clothing & accessories store, nestled within this completely repurposed & restored vintage Airstream. Established this Summer, owner Mimi Ramos credits her much loved experience as a boutique store owner coupled with recognizing a rise in popularity of the food truck movement as inspiration for her mobile clothing bazaar. She notes that "Camp is currently focusing on tops, tunics, dresses and accessories. I'm working on sourcing easy and original pieces that work for daytime and casual outings with a bohemian chic tone." Mimi is also featuring an ever-evolving mix of jewelry & home accessories.
