My slight obsession with books (of which I have my father to credit) always has me on the lookout for certain titles/authors when I am on the hunt for vintage finds.... All the books pictured above are currently on my bookshelf, in multiple copies....
- Anything by Albert Hadley and/or Sister Parish -- I have 2 copies of Parish Hadley, both signed (one of which I will always treasure is inscribed to me by Mr. Hadley before he passed away)
- Anything written by Mary Emmerling, who I find ever inspiring
- Anything written by Terence Conran
- Books on classic architecture
- Anything written by Craig Claiborne
- Books on American antiques
- Anything written by Dorothy Rodgers, who I consider an original lifestyle tastemaker
- Older Martha Stewart books
- Anything published by noted design magazines -- House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Architectural Digest -- featuring period decor and at the time, the upcoming designers of the day (who are now today's revered talents)
*To note.... Your local libraries are some of the best places to turn up older titles in great condition -- some branches have monthly and/or seasonal sales.
