We attended the Atlanta Botanical Garden's Garden Lights Holiday Nights event last night (my photo above of the Orchestral Orbs on the Great Lawn).... It was our second year, and the Garden continues to pull out all the stops! More of everything than I remember from last year -- the lush landscape adorned with abundant bright color, decorative elements (the lit-up corn stalks in the Edible Garden were fantastic), Christmas Carolers singing classic tunes, a magnificent Model Trains display, and plenty of Hot Chocolate to go around! I recommend ordering tickets online and printing them at home.... The line to buy tickets was quite long and Wednesdays are considered "off-peak" (so peak nights must be busy). And an added bonus, Scoutmob is now offering a Hand-Picked DEAL to purchase tickets.
My other top choices for taking in lively Holiday entertainment are included below....
- The Santaland Diaries at the Horizon Theatre, written by David Sedaris
- Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre
- A Christmas Carol at the Alliance Theatre
- Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer at the Center for Puppetry Arts
