The Scout Guide was founded in 2010 by two Charlottesville, VA based friends, Christy Ford & Susie Matheson (above right). This go-to resource highlighting interesting local business & inspiring artisans, is quickly emerging as the insider's guide to navigating a new city. To date, The Scout Guide publishes over 25 city guides, with the Atlanta edition recently releasing its premier issue. Copies are available around town at featured businesses or you can order one online. I've posted previously about my Sweet Briar College classmate, Hopie Avery, who is the editor of The Scout Guide's Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill edition....
Christy Ford knows a thing or two about local business.... She and her mother, interior designer Jan Roden, own And George, a distinctive decorative home furnishings & design store in Charlottesville and her husband Ryan Ford co-owns The Organic Butcher. Southern Living magazine featured Christy and her family photographed at home in their November 2010 issue.... Check out her signature style below.
