Happening now through August 21, check out the contemporary art exhibit, Modern By Design, at Atlanta's High Museum of Art. This summer show is a collaborative effort between The High and NYC's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Included are about 150 objects, created throughout the 20th & early 21st centuries, that reflect an important modern style and capability of its day.

Looking ahead to 21st century design, The High commissioned a piece for this exhibit by Amsterdam artist Joris Laarman -- his creation pushes design forward through the introduction of robotics, specifically a robot named Abby. Abby uses a technology based blueprint to form Rococo style tables out of "voxels" -- 3 dimensional small metal pieces -- creating art through a digital & deliberate process.
