Debbie Reynolds Hits a High Note

Monday, June 20, 2011

The iconic silver screen costume collection of legendary actress & entertainer Debbie Reynolds was auctioned off this past Saturday at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, CA, organized by Profiles in History.  Hammered prices far exceeded the price estimates placed on the custom gowns and accessories worn by Hollywood's starlets of the day.  I'm sure no one was more pleased than Ms. Reynolds, who started amassing her collection back in the early 1970s, when MGM Studio opened their wardrobe vault and began to sell off these living jewels from a by gone era.  Click here to read more from my previous post and check out someone of the items below with their realized prices.  In all, Ms. Reynolds' collection brought $18.6 million at auction.
