India Hicks' family pedigree reads like a treasured British novel.... Her given name honors her mother's side of the family - Lady Pamela Hicks is the daughter of Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Earl Mountbatten was appointed the last Viceroy of India, transferring independence to the people in 1947. Prince Charles is India's godfather, and she was included as one of Princess Diana's bridesmaids in their wedding. India's innate sense of style is rooted within her father's history, he was legendary interior designer David Hicks, known for his exceptional ability to mix pattern & color.
Stepping away from the royal limelight early on in her adult life, India has carved her own path, establishing residence in the Bahamas with longtime partner David Flint Wood and their 4 children. Island living continues to serve as the inspiration to both personal and professional projects.... She is the author of 2 published books -- Island Life and Island Beauty; she remodeled & designed the spaces of 4 homes available to rent; and in 2006, she became a Creative Partner with Crabtree & Evelyn, and together developed a line of beauty products fittingly titled Island Living & Island Night.
