Falls Village, CT is a leafy & lovely hamlet, located in the northwest corner of the state. Known as a great week-end getaway destination for NYC dwellers, resident and legendary interior designer
Bunny Williams has called it home for over 30 years. Her country property served as an inspiration for one of her published design books,
An Affair With A House, highlighting the interior's style and exterior's grounds. Within view of her home is
The Falls Village Inn, a historic structure in the center of town, dating back to 1834. Ever keeping an eye on its revolving door of owners and the businesses that they established, when the Inn once again hit the market and sold, Ms. Williams took the initiative to introduce herself to the new owners. Upon learning their business intentions of re-opening the home as a working Inn (with much needed renovation), Ms. Williams offered her design services for free. Staring back at her on the Inn's front porch was owner Colin Chambers. Unfamiliar with the reputation of his seemingly generous neighbor, Mr. Chambers performed a Google search to reveal Ms. Williams' lengthy & revered design resume. Bunny Williams oversaw the project, but tapped friend and local decorator Peter Rich to seek out the furnishings and accessories perfectly suited to give The Falls Village Inn a warm appeal and refined elegance style.
