Hawthorne House
We headed over to Athens, GA yesterday afternoon to attend Hawthorne House's annual holiday trio of events, particularly looking forward to hearing Susan Hable of Hable Construction, and Jay Reardon, president of Hickory Chair, talk about their recent collaboration of Hable custom textiles for Hickory Chair furniture. Hawthorne House is a wonderful home furnishings store in the heart of Athens, specializing in custom upholstered furniture pieces, with an eye for pairing those pieces with refined sophisticated antiques & accessories. Each tastefully designed room of what was formerly a private home, features a selected palate with the right mix of the color and texture. Susan and Jay's talk was very informative, giving insight to the behind the scenes of daily operations at both companies and the process of seeking out weavers to create these newly designed fabrics. You could see the excitement of both Susan and Jay as they discussed their successful partnership of bringing Hable Construction's custom textile design to Hickory Chair's quality Made in the USA furniture.
