Fall Getaway House #2

For last Friday's post, I included images of a renovated Connecticut farmhouse, perfect to enjoy a week-end getaway during the Fall season.  Continuing my design inspiration for today's post, I have scanned images of a North Georgia mountain home, taken from my saved Cottage Living magazine (RIP), November 2006 issue.  Some of my favorite architectural details of this home, owned by husband & wife Markham Smith and Ellen Hauck, include the centrally placed 2 sided fireplace; the separate living & sleeping areas connected via breezeway; the abundance of natural light; and the selection of simple materials & finishes for the interior & exterior.  Check out below.
