Photos from our visit on 5/8 to Stone Barns - all encompassing home to Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, Blue Hill Cafe, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns restaurant - located in Pocantico Hills, NY. Owned by family members Dan, David, and Laureen Barber, the Stone Barns grounds offer a great escape to experience rolling pastures, fields of livestock, sustainable gardening, and delectable food, all within 30 miles north of New York City.

I first became aware of Chef Dan Barber through his original New York City restaurant, Blue Hill, located in Greenwich Village. In 2002, Food and Wine Magazine included him on their list of "America's Best Chefs". We got a chance to dine at Blue Hill about 4 years ago, following restaurant critic Frank Bruni's 2006 glowing review in The NY Times. In 2009, Chef Barber was the recipient of the noted James Beard Award. On our next visit to Stone Barns, we plan on enjoying a leisure dining experience at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, the more formal restaurant on the property.
